“It's so much darker when a light goes out than it would have been if it had never shone.” ― John Steinbeck

Musing: Today would be my sister's birthday, but she is gone. She was a light that burned me and warmed me and finally went out without my realizing it could. I hated her and loved her with an intensity only survivors can understand. And I ache from being alone with these memories - our memories. I am glad she is finally free from the pain she never wanted. I haven't forgotten, Augie, that I owe the world your story.
